Ok, i just started my 1st period...?

anything i should definetly know or any advice??
Answer:
Make sure to take pads and tampons with you EVERYWHERE. Also, carry around tylenol or asparin to kill the cramps. Take a shower everyday when you are having your monthly thing, and you'll be pretty safe!
i havent started yet,but i say always have a tampon or a pad with you,you need to moniter 28 days right after you start, mark it on the calender that way you know when you are gonna have it again and there will be no surprises :)
no nothing really...start out with either pads or tampons..which ever you feel comfortable wearing. periods suck..they sometimes make ya feel like crap...but some people say it's the best week of the month for them. if the flow is normal and the color is red everything is "A" okay !
well its no big deal. dont sleep in a tampon its not healthy. only swim in a tampon. if you have cramps i found that midol helps tons. for the first year or so its going to be irregular. other then that your fine. congrats :D
ok. so if you just started you have to know if you have a light or heavy flow...well there is something these ppl didnt metion..ok when you are on your period..to be really safe....ALWAYS CARRY A SWEATER...that way in case of an accident.well you just wrap the sweater around your waist...ok..and maybe try tide to go....if you want some more tips try this website

...they might have some ideas too.....
It's better to use pads than tampon unless your going swimming. It's usally over in about a week or 2. Keep a pad with you incase of emergency.

Note- I also heard washing your hair during you period, you can have bags undery our eyes. That what I heard but you might wanna know just incase.

For cramping use asparin .
Always keep some mydrol, advil, ect. with you and warm water bottles are lifesavers
You should know that you will likely be irregular for the first year or so. Since it may be really difficult to predict when your next one is due, it's a good idea to tuck a pad or two in your purse and backpack so you're never stuck without one. If you're using tampons, make sure you can change them often and don't sleep with one in (the less frequently you change them the higher your chance of toxic shock... it's not a common thing, but it's still better to be safe.) There used to be a lot of "old wives tales" about not bathing or washing your hair but you don't hear that nonsense as much any more... Some women find that exercise eases cramps, some find they get worse with exercise; you'll figure that out for yourself. Really, you'll figure it out as you go along. It's a normal thing, not a big mystery. :)
Don't start counting the every 28 days thing as you will not be regular for at least a year.

Keep track of your periods in a calendar/diary/journal.

Pamprin is great (for me) for cramps. Get a heating pad in case they are very painful.

Get the most slender plastic applicator tampons. Next time on your period try one, just take your time and read the pamphlet that came with it. Tampons are great for physical activity and swimming.
